Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday extended relief to Tollywood actor Sontineni Sivaji till July 9. The court had earlier directed police not to take any harsh measures against him in the case related to the TV9 shares transfer controversy.
Justice G Sri Devi of the Telangana HC extended his protection while hearing the petition filed by the actor to quash an FIR which is lodged against him by Telangana Cyber Crime police.
Sivaji along with former TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash are accused by the Alanda Media, which took over TV9, of forging and fabricating documents pertaining to the company.
The police particularly established the role of Sivaji by tracing the emails exchanged between him and Ravi Prakash. As a result, he is also charged with several penal sections.
