Mancherial: A man was brutally murdered by his wife who wanted to get rid of him for objecting to her debaucheries, at Mancherial district in Telangana on Thursday.
According to SI Omkar Yadav, the victim Jatangula Laxman (50) used to lived in Rajiv Nagar in the Mancherial district headquarters with his wife Janani and daughter Ramya, Pandu and son Karthikeya. While Laxman was working as a private electrician, his wife Janani worked as a sweeper at the local primary health center.
For the past four years Laxman had been living in his home town of Talodi at Koutala mandal in Komaram Bheem district, after a dispute between the two arose due to an illicit affair that she had. While the elder daughter was married, Janani lived in a rented house in Rajiv Nagar along with two children. Laxman used to visit the children regularly.
On 24th of this month, Laxman came to meet the children and they had another argument when she asked him as to why he was coming repeatedly. In a plan to get rid of him, her brother Panuganti Satyanarayana along with his mother Lakshmi beat up Laxman and tied him to a pole outside the house thinking he was dead. After four hours when they checked on him, he was still alive. They brought him into the house, strangled him to death, and again tied him to the pole. They informed the neighbours that he had come home drunk and was creating a nuisance. Laxman’s relatives allege that it was ploy by Janani and that she along with a local leader informed the police about the his death to be of natural causes.
Based on Laxman’s family members compliant, a case was filed and Janani was taken into custody. Locals also informed the police that she had multiple affairs and had the support of the local leaders.
