Can Jagapathi Babu Match Up To Prabhas’s Expectations


Prabhas who is basking in the glory of Saaho’s success, especially the Hindi version has moved on and will soon start shooting for his new film with Jil fame director KK Radhakrishna.

Tentatively titled Jaan, where he is said to be playing the role a fortune teller, the film is said to be a period romantic drama. Official announcement about this is awaited and speculations are that the title would be adaptable to both the South and Hindi audiences where he has a huge fan base.

Interesting news that has come is that UV Creations banner which producing the Jaan, has approached Jagapathi Babu to play an important role, which in all probabilities would be the antagonist role.

Jagapathi Babu , who has started his second innings in the Telugu film industry has regaled us with his performances right from his entry in 2013 as Jeetendra, in the film Legend with actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Post that role he has acted in series of movies both as a villain and as father to the hero or heroine. His fierce looks in Rangasthalam and Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava were widely appreciated and has made him a much sought after actor not just in Telugu, but Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films as well.

After Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi and Oh! Baby, he will be seen in the much awaited Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in a pivotal role.

The versatility Jagapathi Babu has been displaying in such varied roles right from acting as suave millionaire, to a rustic landlord, as war lord in a periodic film to acting as YS Raja Reddy in the film Yatra could surely get him berth in Prabhas’s new film.

Jaan is said to be a romantic love story set in Europe in the 1970s. While Prabhas plays the role of a fortune-teller, Pooja Hegde has been roped in as the leading lady. The makers have already shot for 20 days and it looks like they are all set to resume the film’s second schedule shooting in Paris.
