Sweet and Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken ½ kg (boneless)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper ¼ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • White vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Egg 1
  • Flour 3 tbsp
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Oil for fry
  • For Sauce:
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Ginger 1 piece (chopped)
  • Garlic clove 2 (chopped)
  • Green chili 2 (chopped)
  • Spring onion 1 (chopped)
  • Chicken stock 1 cup
  • White vinegar 3 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 1 tbsp
  • Worchester shire sauce 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup 3 tbsp
  • Corn flour 1 tbsp (mix with little water)

Cooking Directions

  1. Cut chicken into strips, marinate with salt, black pepper, ginger garlic paste, white vinegar, egg, flour and corn flour.
  2. Deep fry till golden brown.
  3. Remove from pan and keep aside.
  4. For Sauce: In a pan heat oil, add ginger, garlic clove and green chilies.
  5. Stir fry for 2 minutes.
  6. Now add spring onion, chicken stock, white vinegar, soya sauce, Worchester shire sauce, salt, sugar and tomato ketchup.
  7. Cook till it comes to a boil.
  8. Thicken sauce with corn flour paste.
  9. Now add fried chicken and mix for few seconds.
  10. Dish it out and serve hot.
