Make all roads in UP pothole free by November 15: Yogi Adityanath to officials


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the concerned authorities to make all roads free of pothole by November 15.

During a review meeting, Yogi Adityanath expressed dissatisfaction over the condition of roads in Uttar Pradesh and gave the deadline to the officials to make the roads pothole free.

The UP CM also ordered FIR against officials in districts where funds have been withdrawn without any work during the meeting.

The principal secretary of the PWD department has been directed to get FIR lodged against the concerned officials in the districts where funds have been withdrawn but the roads construction has not begun. Yogi Adityanath also said that the patchwork should not be done just for formality but focus should be on maintaining good quality.

The CM also ordered audit of tenders issued by the public works department (PWD), urban development and irrigation department in the last two years.

Yogi Adityanath also expressed discontent over the conditions of roads in rural areas and have ordered the rural development ministry to get them repaired on priority.

He also ordered the officials of the urban and housing department to take effective measures to increase urban area from 22 percent to 30 percent in the next two years.

The roads along the Ganga canal should be made four lane ahead of the kumbh which will be organised in Haridwar in 2021, Yogi Adityanth further stated.
