Gujiya (Sweet Dessert)



  • All purpose flour ½ kg
  • Sugar ½ cup (ground)
  • Clarified butter ½ cup
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Solid milk ½ (crushed)
  • Sugar 1 cup (ground)
  • Cashew 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Raisins 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Pistachio 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Almond 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Coconut powder 3 tbsp
  • Green cardamom ½ tsp (ground)
  • Oil for frying

Cooking Directions

  1. Add all purpose flour, half cup sugar, clarified butter and salt in a bowl and knead with water and prepare the dough.
  2. Then keep aside for 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. Add solid milk in a pan and cook on low flame.
  4. Now take it in a bowl and keep aside.
  5. Now add 1 cup sugar, raisins, cashew, pistachio, almonds, coconut and green cardamom. Mix well.
  6. Now make ball and prepare flatbread and its thickness would be 1/8 inch.
  7. Now cut this in mould size with cutter.
  8. Now put it in gujiya mould and do filling with solid milk mixture and press mould well.
  9. Then take it out from mould.
  10. Now heat oil in a pan and fry gujiya till golden brown.
  11. Keep butter paper in a plate and spread gujiya in plate. Oil will absorbed with this way.
  12. Delicious gujiya is ready to serve.
