COVID-19 has crippled Air India’s finances: MD tells staff

Air India Chairman and MD Rajiv Bansal, in a note to employees, said the “crippling effect” of the coronavirus pandemic has worsened the airline’s finances to a “precarious” position. “Air India has been passing through a critical financial condition much before the COVID-19 onslaught,” he said. Bansal added that despite this, the airline has managed to remain afloat.
